It gives me great pleasure to bring out the first issue of the International Journal of Microwave and Optical Technology (IJMOT) for the year 2009. Before I go further, on behalf of IJMOT/ISMOT family I would like to wish “VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR” to our Editorial Board members, all the reviewers, authors, readers, subscribers and web manager of IJMOT. Without continued help and support of all these people we can not achieve our goal of making IJMOT as one of the best journals in this field. With this new year we have already started publishing IJMOT on bimonthly basis. This is certainly one step forward in the direction of publishing IJMOT every month in 5 yrs time period. Our main resolution for year 2009 is: efforts for wide publicity of IJMOT to reach more subscribers, readers and authors all over the globe and uploading of more user friendly software. Free access of the journal to authors for a limited time period will also continue in 2009.
I am requesting to all the authors of the published papers to contribute the voluntary page charges as much as possible. It is absolutely necessary to maintain the above mentioned publication time line, free of charge publication/access and quality of the publications.
I would also request our contributors/subscribers to participate in large number in the upcoming 12th International Symposium on Microwave and Optical Technology (ISMOT-2009) to be held in New Delhi, India from December 16-19, 2009 under the leadership of Prof. R.S.
