About Banmali S. Rawat It gives me great pleasure to bring out the 4th issue of the International Journal of Microwave and Optical Technology (IJMOT) for the year 2008. I am very pleased to inform you that within a short span of little over two years, now we are in a position to publish the IJMOT issues once every two months beginning this issue. It means the next issue is expected in the month of November 2008. This has been possible due to dedicated and prompt service by our reviewers, Editorial Advisory Board Members and Associate Editors. Also, the large number of contributions by our authors is another important factor in this tremendous progress. It is quite interesting to note that so far the publicity of IJMOT is being done by word of mouth only as we have not done any sales and marketing efforts yet. If the growth continues at this pace, we may expect monthly publications before our target of 5 years. This will certainly reduce the publication time of the accepted papers after these have been reviewed and revised.

Another important good news to our authors is that starting with this issue; they will be able to access not only their papers but the whole issue without paying any charges for a limited duration. For this purpose they will be emailed the access information for this issue with in a week of publication of the issue. It is expected that they will keep this access information up to them only. At this time it is being done on an experimental basis and if successful, will continue in future.

I am again requesting to all the authors of the published papers to contribute the voluntary page charges as much as possible. It is absolutely necessary to maintain the above mentioned publication time line, free of charge publication/access and quality of the publications.

My special thanks to our web manager Mr. Syam Challa for his continued efforts for improving the IJMOT website and helping in the publication of every issue since last year.
